HIM: I want my girls to grow up making confident choices in their lives, knowing at 14 years of age what it took me until 40 to figure out.
ME: And what was that?
HIM: That life is… the old saying… there’s so many old sayings, but life is what we make it. You need to, if you have dreams, you need to reach for them because no one’s going to hand them to you and you’ve got to be willing to work your ass off to make things happen in your life. But if you can commit to that, if you can commit to a process, you can do anything that you set your mind to. You don’t have to wait until you are forty. You can do it when you are fourteen. Start the process.
ME: So that’s your life’s philosophy.
HIM: Oh absolutely. 100%. I mean, my philosophy of life is, you know, I can sum it up in one sentence: You have one life to live. You have one trip on the planet. One trip, and what are you going to do with it?
